FHS Football Topples Tempe High 48-12

The Flagstaff High School football team had their third game on Friday, September 12th, 2025, welcoming their football season, and showing pride for their beloved city of Flagstaff. The game had many things to entertain and offer the audience members, athletes, and performers. The game also had a mini cheer performance during each quarter, and a half time performance led by, of course, our cheer leaders, and the FHS marching band. Northern Arizona University had many refreshments to offer, like various vending machines and two stands selling food such as hot dogs, pizza, popcorn, etc. The team went up against Tempe High School on the NAU football field, and snapped back into victory after a seven-year losing streak on our homecoming game.
The whole audience was surprised when the football team had touchdowns one right after the other, and we know the crowd soared louder with each set of points allowing our team’s confidence levels to boost through the roofs. After asking one of the varsity football players, Angelo Argumendo, how confident he is going into the game today, and what his goals are for the season, he responded with, “pretty confident, pushing through school today and we’re pretty tired. But I think we can win, and we can bring the win back to the dance and celebrate. The coach wants the win, and to perfect all the skills to contribute, [as well as] to have the game be fun to watch and have the school anticipate who’s going to win.”
Confident indeed I must say, beating Tempe 48-12. The atmosphere changed to suspense as the clock ticked to its final moments at the end of the 4th quarter, but after all that, our team won, taking home this victory, and like Angelo Argumendo said, we took this win, and we definitely celebrated at the dance.
