Records Club: Where Music Brings Students Together
Records Club: Where Music Brings Students Together

The Records Club began in 2023 with Mr. Miller and Mr. Williams, who as musicians themselves, wanted to offer students a chance to get involved in music besides band or choir. With the encouragement of the students, Records Club grew into what it is today. The goal of the club is to make music accessible for everyone. Students who already play instruments can come together to collaborate, form groups or bands, and practice. Those who are new to music are free to ask questions, learn basic skills, and try out instruments in a supportive environment. The club meets every Tuesday after school in room 402. Club members also explore the process of music production, from recording, to editing, to releasing publicly, giving students insight into what it takes to create music.
Beyond weekly meetings, the Records Club also gives students opportunities to showcase their work. The club hosts events from smaller events like Open Mic Night, to bigger ones like Battle of the Bands. Open Mic Nights allow students to get comfortable performing in front of a crowd, while sharing songs whether it's a cover or an original song. Battle of the Bands is a bigger concert where groups come together to compete in a friendly, creative competition. This not only highlights student talent, but also brings the school community together through music.
According to the club’s advisors Mr. Miller, the club is non-committal when he says, “come in any time, the more the better.” Students don’t have to attend every meeting or need to have prior experience with instruments to join. This flexible, welcoming approach ensures that anyone curious about the club can stop by and participate, explore their creativity, and connect with others. Whether you’re a seasoned musician or just looking to try something new, the Records Club offers a space where music is for everyone.
