Guiding Success
Santiago Romero
Mr. Pabst, Flagstaff High School Guidance Counselor, has the main goal to help all students realize that everyone has a path for success in their future and can achieve it if they work hard enough. He is here to make sure that students have support when they are worried for their future. He hopes that students can learn to utilize resources—like teachers—and know that they are not by themselves.
In Mr. Pabst’s words, “it’s okay to be stressed and stress can even be your friend.” Stress allows students to tackle feelings of worries and allows them to overcome them as well. While coping with anxiety for your future, it is important to accept it and know that you will be just fine. Talking to friends and family can also be beneficial to overcome stress.
When stressing about school and life, you can take a step back, breathe, and seek support. If you get worried about your future, remember that there will always be support for you if you look for it. Mr. Pabst used to be a PE teacher that focused on healthy fitness goals for students for nearly 9 years. He has been a leader of the FHS Cross Country team, Track and Field, and is now a Guidance Counselor for his second year. Reach out to Mr. Pabst or any other adults for resources regarding your future, and remember that all students who are worried about a successful future; you just need to find your support where it is at.
