Reader Beware! You’re in for a Scare Flagstaff High School Halloween Movie Picks
Isabel Hernandez Rodriguez
A good number of students have different ways of celebrating Halloween at Flagstaff High School. Whether it be by trick or treating with family and friends, handing out candy, or just dressing up for the fun of it, or a lot of students prefer a good movie to get into the spirit of Halloween. Watching spooky movies is considered a favorite by some students here at FHS, but which one would watch for the rest of the Halloween season? I interviewed three students to see which one they love most.
I interviewed color guard rifle captain Morgan Ezell and asked her what Halloween movie she'd watch if she could watch it for the rest of her life. She replied with “Terrifier 3 because it’s very scary and makes you want to throw up. Just like Halloween should be!” I honestly couldn’t agree more. Terrifier 3 is about two siblings trying to rebuild their lives but Art the clown is determined to cause chaos. This movie is not for the faint of heart!
I also asked AP Art student and color guard FHS student, Rin Bowker, the same question. Her response was “Coraline or…Frankenweenie because they're just good movies and every once in a year you can just watch it and it'll be good” Coraline and Frankenweenie have grim vibes, even though they aren’t the same movie they still have the best stop motion horrors! Band veteran senior, Micheal Kernohan, was asked the same and replied with “Nightmare Before Christmas because it’s my childhood film and my all-time favorite.” A movie about Jack Skellington discovering another holiday, Christmas. He becomes fascinated with the jolly holiday. A rather interesting pick for sure as it qualifies as both a Christmas and Halloween movie!
Since Halloween is coming up, it is important to celebrate with those you love and care for. Watch movies, go trick or treating, decorate and spook! Scares and mystery are lurking this season, make the most of it!
