Meet Mr. Davis
Piper Bauer
Flagstaff High School teacher Mr. Davis is much more than just a math teacher. Algebra 1, Honors Geometry, and AP/DE statistics are all classes taught by Mr. Davis. Some of Mr. Davis’s students say, “I always look forward to going to his class every day, I just have so much fun and I feel like I learn a lot.”
Mr. Davis grew up in Waxahachie, Texas. During the time, it was a rural agricultural area with a small-town feel, about 30 miles from Dallas. He describes growing up there as, “traditional Texas life.” Mr. Davis enjoyed his high school experience; the coolest thing during the time was having a non-skip CD player. Graduating from University of Northern Texas in 2006, Mr. Davis Moved to Flagstaff to go to Northern Arizona University. He wanted to go to NAU to get his Master’s in Geology, but fell in love with Flagstaff and eventually realized he wanted to become a teacher. After meeting his wife in college, they had one son who is a sophomore at Flagstaff High School.
Aside from school, Mr. Davis enjoys most of the outdoor activities available in Flagstaff such as running, hiking, and walking around his neighborhood. Indoors he enjoys reading, playing guitar, recording music; He even has two albums released on Spotify. He loves teaching especially when people get invested in a math problem and really want to solve it. Mr. Davis has been a teacher for 12 years, 11 of those years have been teaching at Flagstaff High School.
Even though Mr. Davis didn’t initially plan on being a teacher, he says there’s nothing he would change about his life or career. Mr. Davis is an amazing teacher that is loved by his students. So, if you see Mr. Davis on your class list, you can look forward to an upbeat class that you don’t have to dread going to.
