Football Season Recap
Breon Gray
On August 29 Students of Flagstaff High School came together to witness the Flagstaff Highschool Football team play their first game of the season against the Marcos De Niza Padres. Although it did not end in a win the student section was on point supporting their team and evening bringing in a push-up board. September 5, Flagstaff High School students, staff, and parents are very supportive of their football team driving two and a half hours to Phoenix to watch the Eagles play. The Eagles took a hard beating that day losing to the Paradise Honors Panthers 56-20. September 12, the Eagles were the underdogs beating the Tempe Buffaloes 48-12. I don’t know what kind of pep talk the Eagles had in the locker room but it worked. September 19, Flagstaff Eagles took their second trip to Phoenix to play against the Paradise Valley Trojans, it was a sad game, star quarterback Chase Brown was badly injured, taking him out for the rest of the season. Backup quarterback AJ Valdez also received an Injury at the Paradise Valley Game, the end result of the game came out to be 63-21. September 26, Flagstaff Eagles played their first game without their star quarterback at the NAU dome against The Lee William Volunteers, Sophomore Broden Custer took Chase’s place as Chase was on the sidelines acting as a coach. Students of Flagstaff High School came to the home game to support the football team yet again, this time wearing the colors of America. When everything was said and done the score came out to a 55-0 flagstaff loss. The October 3rd game was played at the home of the Bears at Bradshaw Mountain High School, the Eagles yet again suffered another loss.
