A Night of Mystery and Murder
A Night of Mystery and Murder
Ash Freyer
On October 28th, the drama club held a murder mystery dinner. The night was dark and cold, the wind howled outside as a dysfunctional family gathered for one night only to discover the fate of Malichi Stout, a brother, father and grandpa. They discovered his fate and the contents of the will. The actors all did an outstanding job playing the different characters and intensely showing the family drama. The night was full of mystery and drama, intense conversations and arguments. The actors had a great time performing and working with the crowd. The drama club president Dalylah Shaffer said, “we had wanted to put on a murder mystery dinner for a while.” The president’s enthusiasm showed that there’s a high possibility that they will put on another dinner like this at some point in the near future.
The many members of the Staut family were all portrayed by the following actors, Ash Freyer as Uncle Eddie, Cater Chhun as Sabrina Stout, Eleni Owens as Grandma Winfred Stout, Nika Beygo as Mortimer Stout, Dalylah Shaffer as Monica Stout, Lillian Bowker as Sebastian Seward, Ezra Muller as Harrison Clarington, and Amaya Argumendo as Penelope Clarington. These amazing actors made the experience all the more thrilling and interactive. The different actors gave a lot of depth and realism to the characters and it made the experience very immersive and full of light hearted humor and tactful drama. They had background music playing in the background to help with the ambiance.
There was food served during the murder mystery dinner, which was chili with cornbread. The plot of the murder mystery dinner was that Malachi Stout was murdered in his house during a family party for his wealth and his inheritance, he was murdered by his wife Winfred Stout because she discovered that she was cut out of the will and that the entirety of his money and estate would be given to the butler Sebastian. Overall, it was a very fun and immersive experience that involved the crowd and helped fund the drama club to help with future events and plays.
