Everything You Need to Know About the Eagle Mart

Flagstaff High School Eagle Mart is now open during lunch and after school on Fridays in room 120. It was created to build job skills in students and provide aid to students in need by giving donated goods to any student who needs them, no questions asked.
The Eagle Mart is Flagstaff High School's very own thrift store. Ms. Galland, an operator of the store, said “it’s a free store, basically, but we wanted to make it like a thrifting experience.” She continued to say that this was so the store would seem more accessible, “so students don’t feel like it’s just for students in need, y’know, it’s free for everybody.”
It has been running since last year. Ms. Galland stated, “initially it started as a monthly pop up in the commons.” However, room 120 opened up and the program was able to claim the place as its home. The operation is run by Ms. Galland and the transition school to work program (TSW). Donations come from a variety of places, such as students, staff, and families. Advertisements on social media and school newsletters are the main ways the program has been able to ask for donations. When items are donated, students have an order of operations where they clean the clothes, flatten them, and then they are sorted by category, size, and color.
The main way to help support the Eagle Mart is by donating! Any gently used clothing, shoes, and new toiletries can be dropped off at the front office to be delivered to the Eagle Mart. Another way to support is encouraging clubs or programs that you may be involved in to do drives for the market. By supporting the Eagle Mart, you are supporting the Flagstaff High School community.
