A Snapshot of the Photography Students

The Flagstaff High School Photography 2 and 3 students have decided to create a magazine to showcase their skills and their many ideas in accordance to their passion for photography. The students are creating a multi-page magazine that showcases all the skills they have learned in photography class this will be put to use in a magazine filled with business photos, landscapes and many more. They are hoping to sell the magazine to the other students of Flagstaff High, their families, or to anyone else who is interested in supporting the photography class.
Last year the photography students made a different magazine, but they could not get much promotion, so they couldn’t sell the magazine enough and struggled to make a profit to support the hard work and dedication that the students had put in. A student, Hannah Johnson, who worked on the magazine said, “we honestly did a really bad job advertising, just one round of posters and an announcement.” Their words prove the advertising last year could have been one of the causes of very little sales, but, this year, the photography team is hoping to use more efficient advertising to entice new sales and to help spread the word about the magazine to fellow photography enthusiasts.
At the time of this being written, it is known that the magazine will be sold for $5 during lunch, after school and before school in the commons, December 8th through December 12th. There will continue to be updates throughout the upcoming weeks via announcements, posters on the walls, as well as the Instagram that the students made specifically for advertising and selling the magazine. The students in the photography program have put in a lot of effort into these magazines, and they encourage their peers to buy the magazines— or at least spread the word about them.
