Flagstaff High School has many different options to offer for the 30 minutes we have to get our lunch and eat. From the cafeteria food, the sweet treats provided by our culinary class, and of course, the local vendors that resell food for the students. Never let us forget the Legendary ice cream truck driver, Champ, who sells us his stuff with such a charming attitude and brings our hopes up with his fire menu!
The FHS cafeteria is definitely the heart of our school, besides the food, this is where the students can gather, socialize, and recharge for the rest of the school day. The cafeteria staff works so hard to provide us delicious meals, and sell some healthier versions of the well-known chip brands like Cheetos, and Doritos.
Now, on a very good day, the culinary class will open its window located in the 600 hallways, and sell either a meal, some sweet treats, or a delightful refreshment, all made in the culinary class. The students in this class work very hard to make the food they sell, and most of the profit from their sales go towards CCAP. Then the rest of the money will go to the kitchen ware that they use in class. So of course, it's more than worth it to take a trip to that hallway during lunch and get yourself some yummy grub and support your fellow students! I asked one of the FCCLA members how she feels about serving culinary treats during school lunch and she said “It is quite the privilege; I like giving people good quality food that isn’t the school lunch that is served. It is also a nice way to make connections with people and show your love for cooking.” Which definitely speaks for the rest of the class, and shows their dedication to cooking!
Next up on the menu is the well-known ice cream truck man, Champ, and the yummy treats he has to offer! He sells well known ice pops, like SpongeBob, Ninja Turtle, and etcetera! Then he makes his own treats, like a strawberry ice cream sundae, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup sundae, and more! He also sells many brands of chips, drinks, candy, and Little Caesars Pizza.
All of these options make the students of FHS way more excited for lunch, and this extended lunch menu is greatly appreciated from all across the school.
