FUSD works in partnership with local agencies to provide support for students to access mental health services. In 2020, the Arizona legislature passed "Jake's Law" which created a fund that provides uninsured and underinsured children access to behavioral health services when they are referred through an educational institution-otherwise known as "school-based referrals."
Our local agencies to provide services under this Mental Health Block Grant are The Guidance Center and Southwest Behavioral & Health Services. You can contact The Guidance Center by calling (928) 527-1899 or access information at TGCAZ. You can contact Southwest Behavioral & Health Services by calling (928) 779-4550 or access information at SBH Services.
Information about the Community Mental Health Block Grant is located AZAHCCCS.

Flagstaff High School administrators and counselors advise all students to take courses in a traditional classroom setting with teacher-directed instruction. However, we realize that certain extenuating circumstances can necessitate educational delivery options. In light of the increase in online learning opportunities, we would like you to be informed about the parameters of these online programs. A successful online education takes time-management skills, dedication, self-motivation and a solid foundation of the subject matter. Please review your educational options with your high school counselor before choosing an online education program.
-
Flagstaff High School accepts credits from NCAA accredited online institutions only. Some examples of accredited programs used by our students: BYU Independent Study and Northern Arizona Distance Learning.
-
Students must pass an FUSD final assessment (with a grade of "C" or better) in order to earn a Pass/Fail credit in any of the 16 core courses. If the online program does not administer an "in-person" proctored final exam, the student must contact the FUSD administrative office to schedule an FUSD final assessment for credit.
-
NCAA has strict acceptance guidelines for online coursework. Please refer to their website for more information.
