Meet Ms. Dante

Piper Bauer

If you’re interested in medicine, Ms. Dante’s class should be your first stop. Ms. Dante overlooks Sports Medicine I and II, and Sports Medicine III, a school organized internship program, along with leading the HOSA club. However, she is so much more than just a teacher; she is a caring and fascinating individual, a person who can light up a room.

When describing Ms. Dante, the first word that comes to mind would be funny or uplifting; another great word to describe her wouldA woman with curly hair smiles brightly, wearing a blue t-shirt. be devoted. Ms. Dante began teaching because of her passion for helping people and medicine, along with being able to see her students grow and develop into adults. Her advice for students is, “Overcome your adversity, it will help you develop into a better person.” Ms. Dante is also passionate about many causes, a few being The Trevor Project (a crisis hotline for LGBTQ+ teens in crisis), child homelessness, and child hunger.

Dante was born in Scottsdale, Arizona, but moved from place to place throughout her childhood. When she was eighteen, she visited Flagstaff and realized it was the perfect place in Arizona for her. During this time, she attended Northern Arizona University for both her undergraduate and master’s degree. After getting her job at Flagstaff High School, she met her fiancé—who is also a teacher—and enjoys spending her free time with her, along with their two cats. Outside of school, Ms. Dante has hobbies such as judo and D&D. A personal goal Ms. Dante has been working on is to be able to jog at least a mile, as she previously had Achilles surgeries preventing her from being able to jog. Another goal is to be able to do competitions for judo again.

Within the school environment, Ms. Dante loves teaching sports medicine, specifically “The Walking Lab.” This lab demonstrates the different ways a person can walk, it’s fun knowledge and directs more focus to the way people walk. Most of all, Ms. Dante’s favorite thing about being a teacher would be connecting with her students, and being able to have them feel comfortable and talk with her. She sees her work, not as a chore, but something she can enjoy.

Many students sign up for the Sports Medicine classes, not knowing the type of class they are going into. One of Ms. Dante’s students said, “She gets along with her students and she’s a funny human being.” Many students look forward to going to her class, being able to explore sports medicine with such a dedicated teacher. Join Ms. Dante's class to learn all about sports medicine in a great environment.
