For the Love of Teaching
For the Love of Teaching

There are things we don't know about teaching, especially those who teach in classes which you barely don’t listen to sometimes
because you're daydreaming and just writing what they sprawl on the board but have you ever wondered why your teacher got the drive to teach you the subject they teach? I've wondered that too! The more I think about what teachers do during the school, the more I think; “is this something that they strove for? How do they feel in this position of teaching now?” so I asked some teachers!
The question is– What got them into teaching a room full of teens in the first place? So, I asked that same question to two very awesome teachers! Ms. Jessi, the teacher for a consumer math class here at FHS, had this to say, “I’ve always wanted to become a teacher. It is something that had stuck with me as a kid. I got my degree at NAU and became a stay-at-home mom but life happened and I needed something that paid more and something that can fall upon my degree.” Next, I talked with Mr. Dobosh, a science teacher and coach! He says,” there were a few reasons actually, I had a really cool biography teacher in high school, he was also a coach. That inspired me into becoming a teacher and a coach.”
These stories from teachers give insight to a bit of a common question. Either way it is always interesting to see how these teachers became the teachers they are now and getting to know the person who guides and mentors you throughout school years is always a good thing to understand the manner they are teaching in!
