Noticing the Unnoticed at Flagstaff High School
Noticing the Unnoticed at Flagstaff High School
Piper Robb
When people think of high school, they think about teachers, students, sports, and everything happening in the spotlight. But there's
a group of people who are almost always overlooked, even though they do so much every day: Janitors. In high schools around Flagstaff, janitors quietly keep everything running, even if people don't stop and notice.
Every day, janitors come in early, or stay late to make sure the school is clean, safe, and ready for everyone. They sweep floors, take out trash, clean bathrooms, and fix things throughout the day. Without them, our school wouldn't feel as comfortable or welcoming. It is easy to take things for granted, but they make a big difference in our daily lives.
Janitors also handle situations that most people wouldn't want to deal with. Whether it is cleaning up spills, or dealing with messes left behind, they are always there to take care of it. Their work takes patience, effort, and a lot of responsibility. Even though they don't always get the recognition they deserve, they all play an important role in making the school better and safer for everyone.
Overall, it's important to start noticing the people who often go unseen. Janitors and other staff members are a huge part of what makes our school function every day. Taking a moment to say thank you or even just acknowledge their work can make a difference in their day and show that they are truly appreciated.
