May 21 at 3:00 p.m. • Mandatory graduation practice at NAU Skydome. Students must attend practice to walk on graduation day. May 22: Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2026 • 7:30 p.m.: Students must arrive and enter through the upper lot, near the Lumberjack statue. Families may park only in designated areas. Parking on the upper lot by the dome is only available for ADA, VIP guests, and Dome workers. • 8:00 p.m.: Doors open for guests. All guests will be directed to sit only in the mezzanine area. ADA accommodations are available. No guests allowed on the Dome floor at any time. • 9:00 a.m.: Ceremony begins promptly (will be Live Streamed – link coming soon) • Students will recess to the back of the Dome at the end of graduation to pick up diplomas and other belongings. Guests and graduates must meet outside the Dome after the ceremony. Important Reminders: • Students must wear the cap and gown selected for the ceremony and ordered through Jostens.com. • You may decorate your caps with a school-appropriate, approved cultural, academic, or positive message that has been approved in advance. Cap decoration forms can be picked up in the main office. • Caps and Gowns will be distributed to students on April 7 in the commons only for students who have purchased them, along with documentation that this contract has been signed and returned by students and guardians. • Fees, books, iPad returns, and senior contracts must be taken care of anytime between now and senior checkout on the morning of May 20 to graduate. • Students must follow the dress code for the ceremony: Graduates should be dressed in semi-formal and/or cultural attire; jeans, shorts, casual t-shirts, etc., are not appropriate. If a graduate is having difficulty obtaining appropriate attire for the ceremony, please contact a counselor or an administrator for assistance. • Students and guests must park in the designated parking areas at NAU. All designated areas will be clearly marked and staffed with graduation workers. Please plan accordingly and allow enough time to park and shuttle to the event. • Students and guests must not carry anything into the dome that will disrupt the ceremony. This includes noisemakers of any kind (air horns, cow bells), big heads, cardboard cutouts, balloons, etc. Guests who arrive with these items will not be permitted to enter. Students should leave their phones with family as they are not allowed on the graduation floor. • Students and guests must abide by NAU’s clear bag policy: https://legacy.nau.edu/university-policy-library/clear-bags/ No one will be allowed into the dome without belongings in a clear bag.
