FLAGSTAFF HIGH SCHOOL FAMILY NEWSLETTER

October 2026

Principal Update

Dear FHS Families,

As we head into Fall Break, I want to thank you for our wonderful FHS community!

Thank you to all the families who generously provided treats and food for our teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences! Your kindness sustained our staff through three long days and, more importantly, made our teachers feel seen, valued, and appreciated. Those thoughtful gestures mean more than you know!

As we enjoy a well-deserved Fall Break, I hope everyone finds time to rest, recharge, and do what brings you joy. Remember, a little self-care goes a long way!

Be safe, be kind, and take good care of yourselves and one another.

Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle!

Dr. Libby Miller
Principal, Flagstaff High School

Volunteers needed!

FUSD is beginning the High School Social Studies curriculum adoption process, and we are looking for a parent representative to serve on the curriculum review committee.

The committee will review instructional materials from McGraw Hill and TCI for U.S. History, World History, Economics, and Government. As a parent representative, you would have the opportunity to review the materials, provide feedback, and share a family perspective as we work toward selecting curriculum resources for our high school students.

The upcoming committee commitments include:
  • December 4, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at FHS: Vendor presentations
  • January 21, 2027, from 4:00–5:00 p.m.: Final decision-making meeting

We would greatly appreciate your perspective and participation in this important process. If you are interested in serving on the committee, please contact me at lmiller@fusd1.org

Thank you for considering this opportunity to support FUSD students and teachers!
