Dear FHS Families,
As we approach Veterans Day, I also want to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. We are deeply grateful for their service, sacrifice, and commitment. This year, we will recognize our military service members by hosting Navy Week at FHS! Throughout the week, our students and community will have opportunities to connect with members of the U.S. Navy through a variety of exciting events and activities.
We are especially excited to invite our entire Flagstaff community to a FREE Navy Rock Concert on Thursday, November 12, at 7:00 p.m. in the Cromer Auditorium! Everyone is welcome, and we hope you will join us for this special evening of music and community celebration. (See flyer below.)
It’s also that time of year when we get to celebrate some exciting news - Flagstaff High School has earned an A-rating from the Arizona Department of Education for the third consecutive year and the fourth time in five years!
This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our students, staff, families, and community partners. Together, we have brought our mission and vision to life, and the results speak for themselves.
Flagstaff High School has become the destination school we envisioned just five years ago. Our enrollment is at an all-time high, staff retention remains strong, and, perhaps most importantly, our students report feeling a strong sense of belonging.
So, where do we go from here? We keep growing! We celebrate what is working, look honestly at the areas where our data shows we can improve, and keep moving forward as one united school community. An A-rating is something to be proud of, but it is not our finish line. Our greatest measure of success will always be the experiences, opportunities, and outcomes we create for our students.
I am incredibly grateful for the trust, love, and support our FHS community continues to show. It is both humbling and inspiring to lead a school where so many people care so deeply about our students and one another.
Looking for ways to support FHS? There are many ways to get involved!
-
Support our PTO! Our amazing PTO is hosting an upcoming Chipotle fundraiser (see flyer below). Proceeds will help celebrate and support our hardworking staff as they head into a well-deserved winter break.
-
Make an Arizona Tax Credit Donation! Contributions to our FHS Education Enrichment account help provide students with additional opportunities and support for extracurricular and enrichment activities, particularly for those who might otherwise face financial barriers to participation. (see flyer below)
Thank you for being part of what makes Flagstaff High School such a special place. Our success belongs to all of us, and I can't wait to see what we accomplish together next!
Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle!
